As environmental policies grow increasingly stringent, the wastewater treatment industry sees rising demand for enclosed, odor-proof, low-carbon and high-efficiency facilities. Recently, the air membrane sealing project for sewage tanks undertaken by our company has been fully completed and put into operation. Boasting excellent sealing and deodorizing performance, fast construction and prominent environmental benefits, it has become a benchmark project for local sewage treatment upgrading, and fully demonstrates our technical strength and service capacity in the field of industrial environmental protection air membrane.
Targeting common problems of large comprehensive sewage tanks in the park, including odor emission, poor corrosion resistance of traditional capping solutions and long construction periods, we delivered a customized exclusive air membrane sealing solution.
Compared with conventional concrete capping and steel suspended membrane solutions, this air membrane project has remarkable advantages. Firstly, the construction period is cut by 60%. Adopting modular assembly, the work will not interfere with the normal operation of existing sewage treatment systems, realizing zero conflict between construction and production. Secondly, it achieves both structural safety and cost efficiency. With no steel frame support, the hidden danger of steel structure corrosion and aging is fundamentally eliminated. The self-cleaning coating on membrane surfaces reduces subsequent maintenance work. It is estimated that the full-lifecycle operation and maintenance costs are lowered by over 30%. In addition, the air membrane structure can withstand Grade 12 typhoons and snow pressure of 200kg/㎡, maintaining stable structure under extreme weather and ensuring all-weather safe operation of sewage tanks.
Since operation, the project has delivered notable environmental results. On one hand, the ambient air quality around the park has been greatly improved. The concentrations of hydrogen sulfide, ammonia and other pollutants are kept below national Class II standards, completely solving the long-standing odor nuisance for nearby residents. On the other hand, the fully enclosed space creates a stable living environment for microbial flora inside the tanks. Combined with the intelligent temperature control system, it effectively boosts the biochemical treatment efficiency. The removal rates of COD and ammonia nitrogen in sewage are increased by 8% and 12% respectively, supporting the sewage plant to meet higher discharge standards and expand processing capacity. Meanwhile, the lightweight structure cuts building material consumption, with construction carbon emissions reduced by 45% versus traditional schemes, complying with the requirements of green infrastructure under the dual-carbon goals.
